THANK YOU!

We want to say a special word of thanks to our friends and church family.  We truly appreciate the concern, love and support you have shown in so many different ways these past two months in the sudden passing of our son, Ray.  A special thanks, too, to Pastor Joel, for his comforting presence and guidance during this very difficult time.  “In Christ alone my hope is found; He is my light, my strength, my song.”

From the Council:

As part of the planning for the new bi-denominational hymnal, it was noted that the RCA and CRC have differing versions of the Reformed Standards – the Belgic Confession, Heidelberg Catechism and Canons of Dort.  A small interdenominational committee was formed by Faith Alive to work toward a common translation of the confessions.

Upon review of the proposed translations, Synod 2010 mandated the committee to distribute an updated document that reflects the suggested changes of Synod to the churches by July 1, 2010 for response and comment in order to prepare a final report and recommendations to synod 2011.  The “Proposed Translation of the Three Reformed Standards” version can be downloaded from the “Synodical Resources” pages of the CRC website:

www.crcna.org/pages/synodical.cfm (below reports)

Please take time to consider these proposed translations over the coming weeks.  The council is asking members of our congregation to look at the proposed revisions, and get back to a member of council.  Be sure to respond with your feedback by September 4, 2010 so that we can include the appropriate feedback to the Synodical Study Committee.

Sussex Christian School is holding its 32nd Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, September 18 at the fairgrounds.  Space is still available for craft and antique vendors.  Please call Hope Clark at 973-875-5520 for more information.
